Pictures are quick in explaining the main highlights about your brand and services but sometimes, videos are even better. That’s where Youtube comes in. At first, Youtube was not as big a platform as it is now and it has progressed so much that it has become the #2 search engine.

Youtube Channels are a great enhancement for social media marketing and through them, Youtube has helped business owners to spread their word and get more customers.

Here are a few tips on how to use Youtube effectively for your business marketing. While they may not cover all the topics, they will definitely prove useful in your journey to a successful business strategy.

Make Your Youtube Channel Descriptive:

When creating your Youtube Channel, keep in mind that every detail matters. Choose a title that describes you or your business and gives the viewers an idea as to what you channel is all about. Fill in the sections of the form carefully and describe yourself and your business thoroughly because people who visit your channel will want to know what your channel offers before they subscribe.

Your profile image and channel art matters too because they will tell your audience about your business and yourself. You can use stills from your videos but the best way is to upload an image which perfectly describes your business.

Also, the trailer of your channel is very important too. Make a video that gives an overview of your channel and engage people so that they become interested. You have an option to auto play your trailer video and it’s a great way to connect with people who visit your channel page. Use everything on Youtube Channel layout to your advantage in order to effectively communicate with your audience.

Be Social In Your Videos:

When we think social media, websites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google+ come into our mind. Remember, Youtube is a social media site as well and for your Youtube Channel to be successful, you have to be interactive and relatable in your videos.

Make videos that interact and relate to your customers. Nobody likes a boring drivel and people are more likely to switch to another video. Be funny, be social, be whatever you want but don’t be boring in your videos because that would turn off most of the people.

Be Creative:

Youtube has changed its algorithm such that the videos that are played till the end will get featured more and will receive more audience. The question is how will you get people to watch your videos in their entirety. That’s where you have to be creative.

Imagine yourself in your customers’ shoes and then think about what would interest you more. Studies show that people decide in the first 15 seconds of the video whether they will watch it further or not. Make sure that your video captures the attention of your customers from the beginning and does not bore them. If you can manage that, your video will get more views and shares.

Be Consistent:

Like any other social media sites, you have to be consistent in making posts. Regularly update your channel and add new videos so that you remain active in your news feed. This way Youtube will not “forget” you and you will have an active audience.

Make a video once or twice a week and you will do fine. Many popular channels that I have noticed make one video per week and they get a good number of views and shares. Make a schedule, stick to it and remain consistent in your posts.
