Twitter Launches ‘Highlights’ For Android Users
Twitter is doing a lot of hard work to make its users more comfortable with the platform. The year 2015 has seen a lot of changes so far including Twitter video, video embedding feature and Periscope (a live-streaming video app) and it continues to bring new features as well.
Twitter has now launched “Highlights”. This app allows users to look up interesting tweets according to user’s taste. Instead of looking at tweets as they pop up, if they want to view tweets from the rest of the day, they can now do that. They get a “highlights” notification twice a day, by clicking on which they can view the “best of Twitter” without having to be online all the time.
From the announcement:
“Highlights, a fast and simple summary of Twitter, lets you catch up quickly on the best stuff that is most relevant to you. To create your Highlights, we look at things like the accounts and conversations that are popular among people you follow, tweets from people you’re closely tied to, topics and events that are trending in your area or within your network, and people that are popular or trending among people you follow.”
Twitter realizes that people are becoming busier in their personal lives but they don’t want to miss anything either. This just continues to prove that Twitter cares about making this platform as comfortable for its users as possible.
Users just have to turn on ‘Highlights’ from their notifications panel and they’re good to go. Unfortunately so far, this app is available for Android users only but Twitter is working on getting this feature on other platforms as well.
