Facebook is Testing Ads in Groups Now
Facebook says that by mid-2017, News Feed ads will reach its maximum capacity. So, to overcome that dilemma and to keep the revenues growing to cater to the ever increasing Facebook community, Facebook is now testing ads in groups as well.
These tests will be generated in the mobile and web versions of Facebook Groups of some people in Australia, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand. The people who will see the ads will also a see a message from Facebook saying, “We’re testing ads in groups.”
According to a statement to TechCrunch, Facebook said, “We have started to test delivering ads to people in Facebook Groups, and will be evaluating the response before determining how we will move forward.”
‘Groups’ is a part of Facebook website as well as a standalone app, with over a billion monthly active users, in which different communities exist based on some cause or topic. If these tests sit well with people, Facebook will roll out ads in groups around the globe. These ads will be the same as the average news feed ads.
This is a smart move because clogging up the news feed of Facebook users with ads will surely annoy the users to no end. So, dividing up the ads platform to Messenger, Instagram and now Groups will take the load off of Facebook news feed and will not be as intolerable to people.
