Facebook Eliminates the Need For Businesses to Build Their Own App
While 2015 has been the year of video marketing and Facebook has been adding updates in this regard, Facebook is also making changes to facilitate small businesses in increasing their sales. These changes not only help businesses grow their sales but it also increases Facebook‘s revenue. So, it’s a win-win situation really.
Some of these updates came out last week when Facebook gave business pages equipment to build their own storefront in the new tabbed mobile layout of Facebook. There are tabs like ‘Shop’ which allows users to shop for products and ‘Services’ which lets users view a list of all the offers that the business has to offer.
There are call-to-action buttons as well like ‘Call Now’, ‘Send Message’ and ‘Contact Us’ which are bigger and more prominent and make for a faster communication between businesses and users. The ‘Shop’ section includes buttons like ‘Buy’ so the users can buy stuff with just one click. Or if the sale requires negotiation, users can also click ‘Message To Buy’ which will start an instant conversation between the user and the business.
Facebook recently introduced the ‘Very Responsive’ badge as well. The users send messages to the businesses, and the businesses who respond back within 5 minutes earn that green badge. This badge is like instant confirmation for the users that the business listens to their customers respond back.
Facebook also allows businesses to respond back to a user comment in a private message. This lets the customer service conversation stay hidden from public and helps keep it from hurting the brand reputation.
While these business related updates will benefit small businesses and brands, they will also increase Facebook ads income when people try to bring more traffic to their business storefront a.k.a. Facebook pages. They will also eliminate the need for small businesses to create their own apps in order to sell their services.
